Highspeed Train from Beijing to Zhangjiakou Ready for the Olympics

INTERNATIONAL: All aboard ! Highspeed train ready for the olympics. China unveils brand new, state-of-the-art train to serve Beijing Winter Olympics to impress athletes, and other guests. China has unveiled a brand new, state-of-the-art Fuxing bullet train, said to be the world's first intelligent and autonomous high-speed train with a top speed of 350 kilometers per hour and a 5G live broadcast studio on board, to serve the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics.

The highspeed train trip from Beijing's Qinghe Station to Taizicheng Railway Station in Zhangjiakou has kicked off on Tuesday ,January 25, as the start of the Winter Olympics draws near.

The train ferries passengers between the Chinese capital and the mountainous city of Zhangjiakou, which is set to host freestyle skiing and snowboarding, biathlon, ski jumping as well as cross-country skiing during the Games.

Once passengers pass through a security check and use a ticketless QR scanner, the train reaches speeds of 350 kilometres per hour, significantly reducing the travel time to around 50 minutes compared to the usual commute of three hours.

The Winter Olympics are due to kick off on Friday, February 4 and will run within a "closed-loop" bubble and ends on February 20.
